Your pups will jump for joy for these homemade Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats. With only 5 ingredients, these homemade dog biscuits are a great way to use up those overripe bananas and a delicious way to treat your dogs.
What dog doesn’t like peanut butter? When we’re not treating them with peanut butter dog treats, we use peanut butter to get them to take their medication. If you add some bananas into the mix like these Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats, even a human will try to wag their tails for a bite.
And hey, if you are tired of drinking a green smoothie every other day, put those overripe bananas to good use by making these yummy dog treats. Your pups will sure appreciate them too.
How to make Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats
These homemade dog biscuits are one of our very easy dog treat recipes. They require just 5 ingredients: banana, peanut butter, egg, cinnamon, and flour. You can omit the cinnamon but I think it gives these treats a special flavor.
- Smash the bananas in a large mixing bowl. Add peanut butter, egg and cinnamon to it.
- Beat with a whisk until smooth.
- Add flour to the banana peanut butter mixture.
- Fold with a spatula and knead until a dough forms. It should resemble a drier biscuit dough. If the dough is still wet, you can sprinkle in a little more flour.
- Roll the dough out to about ¼” thick, and cut with cookie cutters.
Can dogs eat cinnamon?
If you’re worried about whether cinnamon is safe for dogs, it is safe according to the ASPCA. But nutmeg can be toxic so anything with nutmeg or a spice blend like apple pie spice are off limits.

Season’s Greetings, Chi Trang –
I just made some of these banana/peanut butter treats for our furry son. He loved the pumpkin dog treats that I made using your recipe and now he is enjoying these new treats.
The recipe was so simple and easy to follow. I love the fact that your dog treats call for very little ingredients. I made them a little thicker and got 24 using the bone and gingerbread cutters. For the scraps, I made small little patties and used a fork to design them. They are so cute!
Thank you so much for sharing your awesome recipes with your audience! Merry Christmas to you and yours 🎄

Cam on, Katie! I’m so happy to hear your furry son loves the treats. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family!
Claudia Ortiz
I did exactly what was written but it was as dry as I wanted.
Sandy
I just made your recipe I did modify it a little I added some baking powder to give them some lift and instead of putting the cinnamon in the treat I sprinkled it on top when I was baking them, because my pup has never had but a taste of cinnamon so I just used a dash here and there, and lastly I didn’t get just 21 biscuits I got nearly 30 biscuits, but I used a star cookie cutter even though it was a medium size. Dodger loves your recipe and it was simple and Great! Thanks I will be baking these again as I am on a fixed income, and they are worth the value.
Trang Doan
Glad to hear your pup loves these treats and they also a help financially, Sandy!

Bake time not accurate in the least.
Trang Doan
Sorry, it didn’t work out for you. It would be helpful to others if you could elaborate how long you baked it for, was the suggested time too long too short? How large and how thick did you cut the cookies? I make these multiple times so I’m surprised to hear the bake time wasn’t correct.
Jacky
Thanks for the great recipe, I substituted blended oats in mine and came out great. They really are tasty and my doggo loves them too 😉 . Thank you!
Trang Doan
Happy to hear the doggo loves them!!
Mary
Can I substitute finely blended oats for all the flour?
Trang
Yes, you can, but it may not be the same amount. Take a look at this recipe made with just oat flour. The ingredients amount is a little bit different but it will give you an idea what to substitute. Make sure to use enough oat flour so that you can shape it into a ball of dough.
Sara
Wonderful recipe! Is all purpose flour safe for dogs? Also can I substitute the flour for finely blended oats?
Trang
Yes, it is safe for dog, or you can use whole wheat for more nutrition. Oat flour will work too but I’m not sure if it’s a 1:1 substitution, I do have a few dog treat recipes made with oat flour if you want to take a look for reference. Just make sure you add enough to be able to make a ball of dough.
Ashley
Treats are very tasty, even for humans, I ate most of it
Trang
LOL I love it, thanks Ashley!
Pattie
I am baking these as I write this. I followed all instructions and kept adding more flour if too wet as suggested, but I added so much flour that it seemed too much. It was still too wet to form the cookie cutter shape and I ended up just rolling them and shaping them in circles. Hope my dog loves them but don’t know why it never got dry enough.
Trang Doan
Hi Pattie, not sure why it wasn’t working for you, but I don’t expect you to have to keep adding so much flour like you were saying. I hope it still turns out okay and your dog will love them.
Marie
These look like the sweetest little treats. Going to try them out on my pup.
Trang
She’ll love them Marie!
Gin
What a great idea! These will be so cool for the girls’ Christmas basket this year.
Trang
Thanks Gin! I think they would love it 🙂

My dogs would love those treats! The hint of cinnamon is a nice touch.
Trang
Thanks Vanessa! I have a really picky eater, he turns his nose up at plenty store bought treats, but never these or anything I made, so I’m sure your dogs would love them too!
