Level up your PB and J sandwiches with this Homemade Peanut Butter recipe. It’s so easy, you’ll never pick up a jar at the store ever again! This Honey Peanut Butter version is sweet, nutty and creamy. You’ll want to slather it all over your morning toast but most likely you’ll want to eat it by the spoonfuls straight from the jar.
Roast the peanuts in a skillet over medium heat for 4 - 5 minutes until lightly brown and nutty.
Add warm peanuts to a food processor and ground for about 2 minutes.
Add oil, honey and salt and process for another 2 - 3 minutes until smooth.
Notes
This recipe makes 1 ¼ cup of peanut butter. One serving is 2 tablespoons.
Don’t skip out on the oil when making this recipe, or the peanut butter will seize up when honey is added.
Use a different type of oil to your liking but note that whatever oil you use will impart its flavor on the peanut butter. I prefer a flavorless oil or peanut oil.
Add a pinch of spice like cinnamon to change the flavor if you wish.
